I've recently been hunting down YWR printed PRs, - just thought I'd relate my experience for the benefit of others...
Printed Parish Registers are an often overlooked source, finding what is available doesn't seem very easy so here's a brief guide for the West Riding. A good starting point is the GENUKI West Riding Parishes web page...
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/WRY/index.html...which lists all the historical parishes. Each parish on the list is linked to a separate page of information about the parish, including (near the bottom) a link to "The whereabouts and dates of the Registers", linked in turn, under the heading "Church Records", to another page of information, "Dates and current locations etc."
Here however you'll find lots of cryptic abbreviations, with a slightly misleading link as to where to find their meaning. The direct link to the abbreviations is...
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/Misc/CBW/YPRsAbbreviations.html...and it's useful to keep this page open in a separate browser window whilst checking a locations page.
The locations page includes information about manuscript and typed transcripts and indexes etc. but it also indicates if a printed version of a parish register is available. Look for the code PTI (Printed transcript with index).
Thanks to the efforts of the Yorkshire Archaeological Society, Thoresby Society and other local historical societies, Yorkshire has a wealth of printed parish registers, (there are 167 volumes of YAS printed PRs alone) and although the GENUKI site only lists holdings of these in major collections, they can often be found in the general reference collections of municipal libraries. Sheffield Central Library for instance, has an extensive countrywide collection of printed parish registers, so it's worth checking your main local library, and this applies to all of UK not just Yorkshire [If you haven't direct access it always worth checking Inter-Library Loan].
Searching for a handy list of Yorks. printed PRs I found this (in Australia!)
http://www.pcug.org.au/~bthompso/natlib/yprxy.txtbut as the latest publication date is 1987 I'm sure it's way out of date.
Another fully comprehensive source is the Society of Genealogist's "National Index of Parish Registers Vol. 11 Part 3 Yorkshire West Riding, 1998 (Wilcox, Anthony) ISBN: 1859510868". This book should be in every library with Family History resources , so check out your library here...
