This looks like your family in the 1851 census

The name looks more like Baldon on the original image but there is not another one that fits

John Baldon, age 30, ag lab born Lincolnshire Kichford??
Maria age 31 born Lincolnshire East Keal
John age 11, foundry boy born Lincolnshire East Keal
George age 4, born Yorkshire Hull
Rachel age 2, born Yorkshire Hull
John Featherstone, lodger, age 26,milkman born Yorkshire Hull

4 Park Place
Sculcoates, Yorkshire
HO107 2361
folio 421 page 8

Hope this helps

Nicky

Hi Mike,

It looks as though you are not the only person looking for Baldam family, another rootschatter username 'carolwalden' is looking for a Rachel Baldam. I would put a link to her posts but I'm not sure how to do it.

Anyway back to your family, Freebmd has a marriage for a John Baldam December 1/4 1838 reference Spilsby 14  923, the female on the page is called Maria Conyears.

Did you find any info on this George Baldam? He's one of my great x3 grandfathers, so I'd be very interested to know more if you find it.

Thank you, very interesting, I'll have to get looking for census info and occupations for them. It seems George either was a traveller or his son Geo married into romany or travelling families around the North east. I have matches with a lot of people from Romany and travelling families of that area, just trying to pinpoint how far back some of the lines go and where to!
