Hi

Circumstantial, but it looks OK.. ..

1841 census, Preston, Canal Street
HO 107/499/1 folio 45 pg 39

William Vickers; 25; Boatman; Y [born in county]
Ellen do; 23
John do; 3
Daniel do; 3
Jane do; 10 months
All born in county.

Only other Daniel Vickers in Preston is son of Simon a labourer.  No offspring called Simon, whereas there are little Vickers' called William, not to mention the boatman thing!

I'll try these names in 1851 now.

Hi

Can't find Vickers' at all in 1851 - there is a John as a servant but no way to check.

No Jane, Ellen, William or Daniel that I can find currently.  There is a death of a Jane in Preston Q2 1842, but no age.

Can't find Miles Lawson in 1841 - on a boat?

Can't find right James Lawson either - perhaps if you try IGI for a possible spouse, this might narrow it down?
