Hi Guys,

Sadly my aunt Forda passed away in 2013 and it has fallen to me to continue this work. I know she was using Rootschat so I searched and found this thread. I have some additional info that might help if somebody is willing to help.

A Louisa Jane Gerrard is listed as being baptised in Shoreditch in 1855, with her birth year being given as 1832. Her father's profession is listed as weaver so this seems consistent. I assume the family moved from Bristol to London prior to her baptism. The only inconsistency is that her father is now listed as Frederick. It also provides a name for her mother as Elizabeth.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I have also found a census record for 1841 that could possibly be her. There is a Jane Gerrard listed age 6, with a sister Elizabeth aged 8 and a mother aged 34 living at St George in the East. No father listed. Its very close to where she was living in 1861 and close to where she was baptised in the 1850s. The lack of a father makes me think possibly illegitimate which might explain why he is so hard to track.

I know it’s a stretch, but on the FamilySearch transcription of the 1881 census there are children George F and Ellen E.

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q27Q-D9RX

I can’t see George F on GRO, but wonder if his middle name was Frederick.

Ellen’s middle name is Elizabeth:

STAMFORD, ELLEN  ELIZABETH mmn GERRARD

Can anyone find the family on the 1871, as I can’t? :(

No I cant find any trace of them in 1871 either. You are right about George, he was George Frederick.

George was actually baptised as Frederick George in 1866
