Hi there, On my G Uncles  casualty details from the CWGC site it states that he died in 1920, where could he have died that late?  he was in the Irish Guards were the Irish Guards still involved in conflict  in 1920. his name was Charles Forde any information greatfully received

I'd be tempted to contact the CWGC direct with your enquiry, I've heard that they are most helpful.  I should also try to persue his death certificate, which should give you more info, and do let us know how you get on.

hiya mallow,he probably either died of wounds received during the war or died of sickness,many soldiers died of their wounds years later, many more died in the flu epidemic that went on till the early 1920s,mack
military history,mainly ww1,manchester pals battalions,tyneside irish +tyneside scottish brigades,leeds,liverpool,accrington,birmingham,hull,barnsley,swansea and salford pals.

 Thanks Mack Would they still get the Tombstone that was given to Soldiers that died in the War? there is an Army Tombstone on his grave, so just wondering, it just gives Date of death no place name. :)
