Arthur Still, Bangor
« on: Thursday 05 January 06 12:08 GMT (UK) »
Hi!

I'm looking for any information on Arthur Still and family. Arthur moved from Banff, Scotland to Tyn Y Ffridd Cottage, Bangor and worked as a Gamekeeper.

During that time he married Margaret ? b. c1842 and had a daughter Margaret Isabella b. c1876.

I have no further information on any of them, if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated!

Many Thanks

macduff

I found them on 1881 census living at Tynyfridd Cottage, Bangor with daughter Mary Isabella

1891 census living at Llysgwynt Llandegai

On 1901 Margaret Still was a widow and living at Bryntwrw Llandegai with her daughter Margaret Isabella and her husband William Oliver Edwards.  They had a daughter Mary Elizabeth age 2 months

Tynyffridd cottage was part of the Penrhyn Estate which stretched from Llanfairfechan in the north to Port Dinorwic (Y Felinheli) in the south and included a great part of the land that Bangor now stands on. There is a more than probable chance that he worked for Lord Penrhyn as a gamekeeper. The cottage is about half mile from where I live. Could take a photo when I get time if you want.
