Taunton Assizes - COMPLETED thanks to Kazza
« on: Tuesday 14 September 04 10:22 BST (UK) »
Where can I find details of a trial held at Taunton Assizes abt 1878  -  Ernest William Hitchins for the murder of his sister Constance, I know he was sent to Broadmoor & hanged himself there but would like to find trial transcript if possible, or newspaper report at the time.  Any information very welcome thanks.

Somerset County Archives service:

say:

Assize records are generally held at the Public Record Office but prisoners sentenced at Assizes will appear in the Somerset gaol records.

Hope that helps,

Kazza.
