FITZGERALD - brickwall grt. grandf.
« on: Tuesday 14 September 04 23:49 BST (UK) »
Edmond FITZGERALD has been my brickwall for years and he's only back 2 generations!

Relatives think his father was Michael Fitzgerald, a farmer born in Limerick - hmmm, haven't found him at all. (Edmond does write Michael Fitzgerald down as his father on his marriage certificate.)

Edmond ended up in England and he states a different birthplace in every single census. He says Scotland, Mayfair London, Ireland...his birth year would have been c1858. I think it may have been Scotland.
My problem is there are 2 Edmond's in England. One is a solicitor - not mine! The other is a railway servant, railway porter, railway anything. He IS mine. I can't even find Edmond's death/burial. His wife was Ellen Spencer and she died in 1964, but upon her 100th birthday, she claims that her loved one (Edmond) is down the way - already deceased for about 50 years. At this time, Ellen is in a hospital in Surrey.
The last photo of Edmond was taken c1913 and his death must have been prior to 1920.
I don't bother putting in Edmond's name into any search engine anymore, they all come up with the sinking of the EdmUnd Fitzgerald!

Hi Shash

Are you doing a One Name Study on the entire family name or are you just after information on these particular individuals?  :)

If the latter is the case I will gladly move the post for you to a more relevant board which may help to generate a response for you.   Please let me have any information on possible locations (County etc.) so I can place it in the right board.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Bryant, thankyou so much for keeping my elusive Fitzgeralds in mind. I appreciate any of them as one day it WILL be them.

Thanks again.
