LARKIN
« on: Thursday 16 September 04 02:05 BST (UK) »
Griffith's Valuation lists a DANIEL LARKIN living at Drumnakelly, Drumcree, Armagh.

Can anyone suggest a way (or does some kind soul have a way) that I can find out if this Daniel Larkin had a wife named Ann and a son named Patrick?

Or, for that matter, whether he was Catholic or Protestant?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

The way to check is to go to parish records. These are available from 1844 to 1881 with some gaps at PRONI in Belfast or the national library in Dublin for Catholic records. Anglican are harder to trace but PRONI should be able to help.

The following marriage was registered in Armagh:

LARKIN    DANIEL    BYRNE    ANNE    1822

closest births of a 'John' in Armagh are

LARKIN    JOHN    1833
LARKIN    JOHN    1838
LARKIN    JOHN    1839
LARKIN    JOHN    1841

Don't know if any of these are your folks, but hopefully this will give you something solid to work on.
