Hi Gill:

Just saw your posting.  I have traced my Tovey Line from 1770 in Bedminster and a lot of  the descendants / siblings  -  some of which moved to Wales (or could have been from there orignally!)  I have a few in the in the census.  Could you give me some more details as I have quite a few Charles / Charley Toveys and about 140 Toveys all together .

My Toveys also had links with Bedminster. My grandmother Elizabeth (Sarah ) Tovey was born there to Charles in 1895.

I'll look up a few more details and send them to you

Hello! (particularly Longtallsally)

I'm interested in TOVEY family of Bedminster. I know this is an old thread, but if anyone out there is still researching them I'd be keen to hear. I  have got back to 1766, so I reckon we're looking at the same family. Fingers crossed. 

Lockyer, Tovey, Mercer, Dickinson, Hiscox: Somerset & Bristol.
White, Long: Devon & Bristol
