Dean family -Ramsey. Help please!

My Great grandmother was Rhoda Dean born Ramsey 1879. I know her father was John Dean born Ramsey c.1842, but have been unable to find his marriage to Rhoda's mother, Mary Ann (b.c. 1842 Ramsey). Their first child, Joseph , was born c. 1869 in Ramsey. Can anyone help?

Ruth, thankyou so much! Thats brilliant! Is it poss you are able to find John's baptism (c.1842)? I think his father may have been a Joseph, possibly born in Gamblingay. Thankyou again,

As from today the GRO indexes are now available FREE!!! (at least for the moment) for viewing on www.ancestry.co.uk. You might be able to pick up his birth there, although that won't show his father.

When checking for Joseph you may find the Cambs FHS website useful

It has baptism indexes as well as census indexes for 1841 and 1851 (and Gamlingay records have been extracted onto the IGI)

There were only 2 baptisms for the Dean family and both of these were in 1858 at St Thomas of Canterbury, Ramsey.

Have spent 24 hours searching other sites, too and established that those listed by Suepip on 1841 & 1851 aren't mine!!  Thanks anyway, guys! Back to the drawing board!
