1901 Census - Magherafelt - McAllister
« on: Thursday 19 January 06 13:46 GMT (UK) »
Looking for info on my grandmothers family.  She was born Catherine MC ALLISTER in April 1890.  Her father was Cornelius (sometimes Constantine) McAllister , an engine driver and her mother was Sarah Jane (nee Dogherty) note unusual spelling.  They may have lived in Church Street.
McCann, McAl(l)ister, Scullion, Dogherty, McIvor, McBride

Found out more info.  The name varied between McAlister and McAllister and her father's name was definitely Constantine (he was known as Con).  Her mother was from Antrim town.  They lived in Magherafelt approx 1883-1895.

I am researching the McAllister family from Magherafelt. I have John McAllister born in that area 1842. He was the son of Margaret  McELHONE AND JAMES
MCALLISTER.
John McAllister came to Glasgow between 1881 and 1887 with his wife Margaret Jane McGill. Their known children John, Catherine and Annie.
Other names connected to the family are McGuigan and Kelly
Any info welcome.
