Edwards family Bleddfa/Byton court farm
« on: Saturday 21 January 06 14:33 GMT (UK) »
I am wondering if anyone is researching this family. Jane and John Edwards were both recorded as having been born in Bleddfa.(1825/35)
In 1861 census they appear in the villiage of Byton.
John Edwards was my great grandfather and I believe he farmed at Noyadd (am not sure whether this is a farm name or an area. He later moved to Court farm Byton.
Any information will be much appreciated

Hi, John Edwards was my 3rd great uncle.  John's brother, Joseph was my 3rd great grandfather, he was born and lived  in Noyadd farm in Bleddfa from about between 1787 to 1819 He owned a Court House Farm in Cascob, Radnorshire from 1819. Their father was Jeremiah Edwards passed to John for Noyadd farm in Bleddfa and Joseph for Court House farm in Cascob, so presumably his father died in about 1820s.  Joseph moved to Pool House Farm, Obley, nr Clunbury after one of his relatives died in about 1830s.

I hope to heard from you
Regards
Kath

Hi Kath,

This is amazing! I will try to sort out my 'Edwards family' and get back to you tomorrow. I have quite a few living relatives belonging to the Edwards family and most live in Herefordshire.

Many thanks for contacting me.

Hi,

I was interested in your discussions from 2006 if you can remember that far back.

My family are Edwards and they come from the Courthouse, Byton, which is adjacent to Court Farm, Byton.

I am uncertain from your discussions if you finally decided the family was from Byton or Cascob?

I have copies of the deeds showing various Edwards in the Courthouse through the years and access to the Byton Parish Church. I also have relatives who live locally and have researched Edwards widely.

Even if the families are not linked it is interesting for me to know of other Edwards families in the area as it helps eliminate possible births and deaths from our family line.

If any of you are interested in talking further I can be reached on rootchat at macw.co.uk.

I look forward to hearing from you.

P.S. I am searching for details of a Thomas Edwards (guess c.1760) of clun who married a Elizabath about 1787 +- 2 years (at a guess) I have five options from the IGI and I haven't been able to prove any as yet. They had a Thomas, Richard and a Mary (plus perhaps others?)

I have a 'Thomas' born 1743. Do you think that this may be 'your Thomas'. His siblings were Joseph b 1742 and John b 1744. All born at Clunbury, Salop. Do you know who Thomas's  parents were?
It does look likely that we have some connection.
I shall look forward to hearing from you,
