Hi Joe

You can now access the scanned images of the GRO lists of BMD for FREE on Ancestry!!  In the same way as on 1837online  ;D

Great stuff!!

Julie :)
Stiff - Monmouthshire & Glos, Parry - Monmouthshire
Stafford - Glos, Liles - Glos, Bright- Glos, Webb - Monmouthshire & Glos, Smart - Glos, Smith - Glos
Sullivan - Ireland, Jones (oh dear! Almost as bad as Smith), Walker - Somerset, Llewellyn
And, no don't laugh...Crump...I think it's great!

And of course, if I ever do manage to do a successful look up it is crown copyright and all that legal stuff!

Okay,

Search 1944 for Curtis births get this lot:

Christine A Curley     Barry T Curtis     1944     Jan-Feb-Mar
Jonathan Currah    Brian P Curtis    1944    Apr-May-Jun
Eric R Currie    Joan M Curtis    1944    Jul-Aug-Sep
Josephine B Curran    Edward G Curtis    1944    Oct-Nov-Dec

Search for Graham Curtis births and you get only:

Carol A Curtis     Raymond S Curzon-swallow     1944     Apr-May-Jun
Eric R Currie    Joan M Curtis    1944    Jul-Aug-Sep

So be warned.

Thanks for the example Lisa.

Thanks Pauline - and from Joe's and Tanja's last posts, it seems I started to look at exactly the right time, in terms of the records being made available free.  Don't  believe in fate but I'm pleased at my good fortune!

If her email is still working, and if she gets notifications, she may see your post.
Fingers crossed! ;D
