completed 1841 & 1851 census lookup pls GOLDING
« on: Tuesday 31 January 06 00:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi again!

Wondering if anyone can find me an Agnes GOLDING in the 1841 and 1851 census.
She was born 1781/84 Oakington and died in 1853 I think.

In 1841 she would have been with her husband William Golding.
He was born 1777 Oakington and believe died in 1844.

Hi Lilygirl,

No 1841 I'm afraid, but here is the 1851 entry.

1851 Census

Church Lane, Oakington, Cambridgeshire

John Watson - Head - md. - 38 - Agricultural Labourer - b. Harleton

Mariann Watson - Wife - md. - 36 - b. Oakington

Jonathon Watson - Son - unm. - 15 - Agricultural Labourer - b. Oakington

Agnes Golding - Widow - 70 - Pauper - b. Oakington.

All the birthplaces are in Cambridgeshire.

The reference is:- HO107 / 1759 / ED7 / f.102 / p.7

The above four people are entered up as one household.

Hope this helps.

Fox (Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Yorkshire); Stockton (Shropshire, Yorkshire); Moody (Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Yorkshire); Kershaw (Yorkshire); Martyn (Cornwall); Barnacle (Warwickshire, Leicestershire), Cox (Staffordshire); Dunn (Staffordshire); Mitchell (Yorkshire); Evers (Yorkshire)

Hi Lilygirl,

There is one site that I know of which has the indexed images online for the 1841 Census for Cambridgeshire and that is:  www.britishorigins.com

It is, unfortunately, a subscription site but the quality of the images is good given the age of the originals (160 years now) and I have found it very useful.  My subscription has now expired so I cannot currently help you with a look-up.

The cost is 5.95 for 72 hour access, which is great if you know exactly what you are looking for, or (I think) either 9.95 or 10.95 for a monthly subscription.

Hope you are successful in your research.

Regards,

Richard
