Hello Anna

I think this is your family in 1851.The names are not too clear. All listed as Bennett and yet Matthew and Fanny appear to be married yo each other?

There's another Bennett family next door but one-headed by John and his wife Martha. Both age 38,he's a coalminer.

HO107/2151 folio 411 page 12

Mary Bennett 50  Widow Elson, Derbyshire,  Head    Innkeeper
Matthew Eyre 27  Married Abney Son-in-law  Groom
Fanny Eyre    24  married daug Grooms wife
Arthur Bennett 12  Pilsbury, Derbyshire, son
Hannah Bennett 9 Horwich; Fernilee Daughter
Jacob Bennett 6  Horwich; Fernilee Son

Hope this helps and is not too late  ;)

Don't forget that at this time Son-in-law meant what we mean by step-son.  Was Mary previously married to someone called Eyre or possibly her hauband was previously married to a widow called Eyre?

Here's Matthew and Fanny(nee Bennett) in 1861 with their family.
Living at Machion? House, Whaley, Cheshire.

Matthew Eyre abt 1824  Derbyshire, Head Farmer of 27 acres and corn something?
Fanny Eyre abt 1827  Pilsby, Derbyshire,  Wife
John Henry Eyre abt 1852  Whaley,   Son
George Eyre abt 1854  Whaley,   Son
William Eyre abt 1856  Whaley, , Son
Mary Eyre abt 1859  Whaley,  Daughter
John Charles Hebbert abt 1846  Macclesfield, Cheshire,  Servant

So it looks like they were both Eyre in 1851,but only just  ;) can't see a marriage on Free BMD though.

All the best

Hi,

I know this isn't what you were asking but I drove through Horwich End yesterday on my way to Buxton. It's at one end of Whaley Bridge and I just happened to notice the name.
It now appears to be part of Whaley Bridge but I'm sure at one time was a hamlet of its own.
