1871 dover st marys
« on: Wednesday 01 February 06 21:15 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for the census for cow gate hill dover, I don't know what number.  I'm hoping to find at least Sarah Johnson, (nee garlinge) she gave birth at that address 23/03/1871, and registered the birth of Henry Thomas on 25/04/1871 using the same address.  I'm struggling to pin down this part of the family, sarah's husband Henry Johnson seems to be a career soldier, Lance Corporal in the Royal Engineers, although searching through all the dover records on ancestry tonight, I think I may have spotted him garrisoned at Dover Castle,

Many thanks

Gail

I wonder how Jen is getting on with her Garlinge ONS.  I am particularly interested in William George Garlinge born late 1900 in Herne Bay and killed by enemy action 17 April 1942 at Sea Breeze, Brighstone, Isle of Wight.  Hope that Jen is still around and picks this up.
Cheers
