Peter John BROUARD and his wife Elizabeth came from Guernsey in the Channel Islands to work at Ship Harbour/Pt. Hawkesbury for the Thoume Moulin Company, he being a ship builder of some note. He built a 97 ton vessel "General Brock" in 1821 for Peter Janvarin of the Jersy firm that operated out of Arichat area. In 1826 Peter built a 213 ton brig "The James" which was jointly owned by himself and Thoume, Moullin and Co. Peter also served as Justice of the Peace and in 1849 as Inspector of Pickled Fish Commissioner in the Town of Port Hawkesbury Peter John Brouard born abt. 1797 died Feb. 07, 1864 at 67 years of age Buried at the Anglican Cemetary(Boat builder he built the Brig The James painted by Frank Wright) and Elizabeth Brouard born 1786 died April 02, 1875 at the age of 89 years Buried at the Anglican Cemetary (They had seven daughters children 1)Elizabeth Brouard * Aug 2 1818 married John Baillieul from S.S.
