I have an idea.

John Baird was granted a land claim in 1825.
Mary Beard was was a widow in Upham NB by the time the '51 census was taken.

If someone has a copy of the census to see if there was a lot number or something along that line, it maybe another clue to the identity and possibly a link.

The lots may have been re-numbered when the township lines changed but I'll be able to cross ref with the U of NB historical maps in the fall.

Hi Glenn
I noticed on your PDF file there isn't a marriage for William Baird and Sarah Lackie, I found these marriages
William Baird m.1839, Upham, Kings, NB
and
Sarah Ann Lackey m.1839, Upham, Kings, NB
no other details but the source stated for both is:
Yesteryear - Kings County Marriages, Register A, 1812-1844, by Ruby M. Cusack, St John.
This is Ruby Cusack's website

Denise

Thanks,
Everyone thought they were married in England.
And the spelling is wrong as well.
That explains a lot.

I did not know Ruby had a book out.
Know where I can get a copy?
