Holmes family of Keighley
« on: Tuesday 07 February 06 17:09 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for siblings and forebears of Joseph Holmes b Keighley abt 1930, married to Martha Smith also born Keighley abt 1930.

Any information that could be provided would be most useful

Hi Bryanj

There are 53 Joseph Holmes' aged 11 +/- 5 years in the 1841 census for Yorkshire & 3 in the Keighley piece - this doesn't include spelling variations  :o

Do you have these people in a later census or a marriage certificate to give a father's name to help with the identification of the correct ones?

Sandra,

thanks for your reply,  I have about 300 relatives following on from Joseph b abt 1730 in Keighley, he was married to Mary Smith also born in K and abt 1730, This has been confirmed from Birth certificates I have in my possession.

I need to get a look at the 1841 census to see if I can find any Brothers/sisters for Joseph,  I do not seem to be able to find the census on the Internet, how have you managed to get hold of the above information?

Now going to bed!!!

BryanJ

PS: Sorry about the date error in my first mail!! :-[ :-[

My Holmes family are from keighley from at least 1500s to late 1800s, when my Gr Gr grandparents moved to Bradford (William holmes 1850-1918).. I’m probably a descendant of who you are looking for.. somewhat down the line
