1841 census look-up - Chithurst
« on: Thursday 09 February 06 17:16 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I am trying to find out the parents' names for Jane Eade who I think was born in 1833 in Chithurst. I have found her in the 1851-1901 censuses and the only other thing I am fairly sure about her family is that she probably had an older brother called William, born around 1827.

She also listed her birthplace as Rogate in one census but I think that's very close to Chithurst.

Can anyone spare the time to look in the 1841 census? Many thanks

Hi Again

If the eldest child , i.e William is 14, must mean they got married c.1826/27

Found this marriage

Location: Rogate, West Sussex,  Date: 24 Jun 1826:
Groom: William EADE, bachelor of this Parish
Bride: Mary CARPENTER, spinster of this Parish
Married by Banns. with consent of parent.

Everything matches up

Hope that helps with your research
