Genes Reunited again
« on: Friday 10 February 06 20:01 GMT (UK) »
Sorry for the long post  :-[
I paid my subscrition to Genes Reunited just before Christmas and to be honest I've been amazed by how effective it has been in helping me to move forward from 1901.I can now fill in the gaps on 5 branches of my tree to the present day, and it has prompted sssome serious review on whether I got the 9th and 10th generations right on my husbands side of the family (yet to be resolved).
I wonder if anyone else has experience of managing the different expectations of found relatives who use the site? My primary interest is to establish a family history. Some of the people I have 'met' share that motivation, others are keen to meet relatives as there has been some family dispute and they have lost contact with immediate relatives and need another connection (losing contact is the case for me too, but finding a substitute is not important)

Getting help on rootschat is easy as it doesn't carry family baggage. Any tips on how to be sensitive to family issues on Genes Reunited?
