Church Information
« on: Saturday 11 February 06 09:11 GMT (UK) »
Hi to All.
I wonder if anyone can inform me if the Methodist & Weslyan church in 1916 were/are the same.
I have a marriage in 1916,the Lancashire BMD shows that he/they were married at Gravel Lane Methodist in Salford, the copy of marriage certificate shows that they married at the Gravel Lane Weslyan Church.

TIA

Hi

All Wesleyans are Methodists, but not all Methodists are Wesleyans! (Some might be Primitive Methodists etc.) Unless there were/are two chapels in Gravel Lane, I think you could conclude that it was a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel
