Yes, I saw them in 1901 - that's the date I traced them back from.

Clearly, Elizabeth didn't age quickly  8)

But George, Edgar, Elizabeth jr and sr. all right age and right birthplaces - I'm confident they are the ones in 1891.

As for 1871, there aren't many Austin's born Wells in 1871 either, again with a mother born Wells...

I can understand your confusion but can't find anything better. Have spent at least an hour on 1881 to try and track them down but to no avail. Perhaps you will be luckier with the new 1891 census info?

Sorry, I see I put the head down as John Smith in 1891 when he should be a George. Have edited it now for clearness sake  :-[

Hi Tanya
Many Thanks onse again for your time
I Think I many have found them on the 1881 Census

11 Nelson Street Cardiff St Mary

Geo. Smith ~ Head 1852 Bristol
E. Smith ~ Other 1848 Wells Somerset
G. Smith ~ Son 1880 Cardiff
M Smith ~ Daughter 1874 Cardiff
A. Watcher ~ Son 1866 Wells
B. Watcher ~ Daughter 1872 Cardiff
E. Watcher ~ Son 1865 Wells

Elizabeth is down as "Other" although is married!
going by your 1891 Census A. Watcher [Austin?] is a stepson
looks like Elizabeth may have been married before.

Thanks again much apprieciated
