Hi Hillboy

Welcome to Rootschat!  :)

Scotland is a big place and McKay is not all that unusual as surnames go.

Do you have any other info?  Who did he immigrate with?  Do you know his parents' names?

When did he arrive in Cape Breton?

You will probably need to consult Scotlandspeople (a payable website) to look at Parish records, but of course you will need to know a parish before that is very useful to you.

let us know what you have & how we can help.

kind regards, Arranroots  ;)
