John Gemmell Look-Up Plse

Hi,
looking to trace john gemmell born 1822 (approx) in Dunbarton Scotland.

He married Jean (?) who was born in Jonston (?) is that St.Johnston Scotland. Jean was born approx 1827.

During the 1861 census they were living in Kirkdale Lancashire & I think he was a shipwright, (well worked in a ship yard maybe??). In the 1861 they have 3 x children - Archibald b-1855/ Jean b - 1860/ William b - 1853.

We don't know much aboutnthe family but think there was a connection to the Gemmell & Frow shipwrights in Hull Eat Yorkshire???

Just wondered if anyone could trace John Gemmell back further???

Jean Gemmill aged 44 wife born in Scotland

William Gemmill Son  aged 18 ships carpenter born in Scotland

Archibald Gemmill Son  aged 16  born in Scotland

Jane Gemmill Daughter  aged 11 born in Birkenhead in Cheshire

Alexander Gemmill Son  aged 8 born in Birkenhead in Cheshire

Ann Gemmill daughter aged 6 born in Hull in Yorks


By 1881 they had moved to 31 Williamson St...

Jane the daughter was married, to a Charles Snelt with a child a daughter Clarrey ?? aged 3 months

I found a possible death for John
