1841 & 1871 - Losco Hazard
« on: Friday 17 February 06 17:21 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone find Losco Hazard in the 1871 Census - I've got him in 1851 (Losco Hozard) and 1861 (via son, not index), but would really like to find where he was in 1871.  He didn't die until 1874.

Also, if anyone could tell me where the family (wife called Mary) were in 1841 I would much appreciate it.

Thanks
Fiona

There's one age 12 in 1861 born Cromwell Notts (and living there) ... son of Henry.

It really helps if you post a census you've found, so we all know what we're looking for :)

Sorry, I should have given more info.  Thanks for the 1841.  I'd already found the marriage.  I have a feeling that the other 12 year old Losco in 1861 must be some relation, it's such an unusual name.  We're wondering if it could be Spanish, as there's a story in the family that there was a Spanish gypsy some way back!

I'm still baffled by the 1871 Census though.  I've tried every variation on the name I can think of.

Thanks so much for your help.

He seems to be his grandson - he's the son of Henry and living just next door  to Losco, Mary and James :D (in 1861)

Hi Tanja

I've got Losco Charles on the 1861 Census with father Henry, mother Ann, living next door to Losco, Mary and James, but he is born Lincoln. (RG9/2362 Page 30)

I assumed the one born in Cromwell, Notts was a different one.

Actually, having spent the whole afternoon trying to work it out I'm now completely confused!

Right ... there are 2 of them, both with a father Henry.  :P

Still can't find Losco the Elder in 1871...
