Yay - I did it!

Lightened it a little.

I must admit that this was a real strugle to get this much done.

Men wearing greeny-brown uniforms in a garden surrounded by autumnal grass and trees doesn't give much scope for colourfulness, does it? I think my colour pallet was exhausted after the first few layers went down.

Anyway here are the lads looking a bit more hale and hearty now that they have some colour in their cheeks.

I hope they all got back fit in mind and body.

Oh Wow

I can't believe how good it looks - and how quickly.

Nearly in tears now - just wish my Mum could see it, her Dad's the good looking one at back, second from left 

Thank you both so very very much - I am simply awestruck by how talented some of the restorers are on this board - I fear that if I had had a go it would have probably ended up a murky green mess.

Grandad got back in just about one piece - he was quite badly wounded in battle but was lucky that the bullet got deflected by his folding scissors.  Fortunately he went on to get married and have my mother - or else I wouldn't be here.
