Henry Goucher
« on: Friday 23 January 04 08:48 GMT (UK) »
I have traced that a Henry Goucher was sentenced to
death, but, infact was transported for life to Australia.

Thanks to the State Records of NSW http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/ I have confirmed the following:

GOUCHER, Henry. Per "Guildford", 1812

1813 Oct 4 On list of prisoners to be sent to Newcastle per "Estramina" 1814 Jan 8 On list of prisoners to be dispatched to Newcastle per "Estramina"

1814 Apr 4,5 On lists of convicts to be sent to the Derwent per "Windham"

1820 Apr 26 On list of prisoners transported to Newcastle per "Elizabeth Henrietta"

The court transcript shows that Henry was born circa 1775 and was living with someone who answered to be wife of Henry, but there is no name given for this woman, nor place of birth.

I have no trace of him after 1820. Does anyone connect to "naughty" Henry?
Regards,
Julie
