Hi Phillip,

sorry if I'm telling you what you already know, but Wisbech is one of those places which "moved around"  ;D

I have ancestors from the area, and the census and BMD info. is sometimes from Cambridge, and sometimes from Norfolk !

There are several BOUCH on the Norfolk Transcription Archives,
http://www.genealogy.doun.org/transcriptions/index.php
but none from Wisbech. Might still be worth a look to see if there is a connection.

Then, on http://contueor.com/wisbech/ , Wisbech and the Fenlands  there are
these two from Wisbech St. Peter
Marriage: 1783  Sarah BOUCH
Baptism : 1820  Eliza BOUCH - BARNES
Too early for you, perhaps, but maybe an earlier link ??
Sarah could be your Sarah's mum, or G-mum and the name was 'inherited'  ??

Hope this helps,
Bob

ps.

Quote
Will go for a walk up the streets of Wisbech

After one searcher couldn't find my people on the 1851 in Cambridgeshire,
someone else found them in the next street, in Norfolk   ;D
