I am trying to find the relatives of Richard Carthwright, his occupation is Gardener. He arrived in USA 1886

Agnes has kindly given this information on another site but I have now come to a full stop

In 1900 he is living in the Bronx, New York, New York
Aged 32
His birthplace is shown as Wales

Elizabeth 35, from Ireland, her immigration year is 1884.
Jannie ? 6
Edith 5
Richard 2

In 1930, they are still in Huntington, Suffolk, NY, living on Main Street. Just Edith at home with Richard and Elizabeth.
Richard is now shown as a Superintendent, Private Estate.Immigration year is shown as 1885.

Can anyone help me further  Thanks

Hi Neatwheat

I wish I could give you some good news but unfortunately the only thing that I have turned up is Richard's son (also Richard) in the WWI Draft index cards

I have a copy of this info if required

Agnes

Best wishes

Oyster Bay is tricky. I have a relative there also. Not always part of Suffolk county. On and after January 1, 1899, the eastern two-thirds of
Queens County became Nassau County,
and at that time included 3 Towns:  North Hempstead,
Hempstead and Oyster Bay.

This link will explain the changes.

You can contact the Town of Huntington Clerk for Vital records. I have done so by email and they can tell you if they have it and the cost of a copy.
