WHITLEY/BRAKE families please

I am glad that the name of that child stood out it did with me also, I thought if Eric was born in Carlton, Notts then maybe there were others before him.

this is what I found ...

there were two boys born named Ben Brake Whitley the one who sadly died the same quarter June 1900 (Stillborn my guess) and another

Ben Brake Whitley Sept quarter of 1908 Reg in Basford, Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire

So I went to the 1901 census and found without a year of birth or birth place in the search string and came up with these two - this Ben has the same occupation as you mention on the birth cert of Eric William Whitley in 1912


There are living in Carlton, Notts.
Ben Whitley born roughly 1876  Leeds
Elizabeth Whitley born roughly 1881  Northamptonshire

So I think we can safely disregard the first sighting of a Ben born 1863 in Halifax?
