The Four Horseshoes Inn - WARFIELD

I am interested in any information with regard to The Four Horse Shoes Inn at Warfield Street, Warfield.  My family were licensed victuallers there from the middle 1840's and the grandaughter Kate Gayler born 1848, was still there on the 1901 census.  Unfortunately after 1901 I have no further information, with regard to Kate or what happened to the Public House.

Here's hoping someone has some information for me

If you google - "four horseshoes" Warfield - you will find a reference to the deeds of the four horse shoes in the bracknell heritage database

My 2nd Great Grandmother Louisa Lavey age 27 and Great Grandfather George Harris age 8 lived at The four Horseshoes Warfield in 1881

When I lived in Warfield, The Four Horse Shoes Public House was then run by the Bennett family, and, as far as I remember, they were the last people to run it as a pub. It is now a private home and was renamed Horseshoe House.  You can read more about the history and structure of the building, as well as see a photograph of it, as it is today, at:

Members of the Gayler family were at The Four House Shoes at least until 1911 and possibly until the start of the First World War.  You can see a complete list of licensees, bar staff, residents, and lodgers, compiled from various directories, including the Kellys Directory, as well as Census records, covering the period 1841-1957, at:

You will be interested to see that there is also mention of a Celia Smith, niece of William Gayler, from Egham, Surrey, staying there at the time of the 1851 Census. Kate Gayler is the last listed member of the Gayler family, serving as a licensed victualler, before a Walter Richardson took over the pub. Then it is members of the Bennett family, who are listed from 1928 until 1957.

Thr census (schedule #60) for George Harris actually says "Nr 4 Horse Shoes" as in "Near"         
 (other schedules say similar)
