British arrivals to Buenos Aires pre 1852...
« on: Sunday 05 March 06 15:22 GMT (UK) »
Nearly 900 pages of individual information (some of the notes are complete biographies) about a good number of the Scots, Irish and Englishmen (and their families) who arrived to Buenos Aires until 1852 - most of them to settle as farmers or merchants in the La Plata area. The book, called “Diccionario de Británicos en Buenos Aires – Primera Época” is written by Maxine Hanon, and can be of very good help for family researchers with connections to southern South America. It was edited in Buenos Aires in July 2005.
Davison - Nothumberland, Scotland and Argentina
Gibson - Northumberland
Vardy - Northumberland
Hardee - Argentina (originally from UK?)
Kingo - Fife, Scotland
& others...
...and then I have a lot in other parts of Europe and South America of course.
