1891 Census: Keighley-Dewhurst/Dewhirst
« on: Saturday 11 March 06 03:11 GMT (UK) »
I would like to get the 1891 Census of James Henry Dewhurst or Dewhirst, aged about 25 who was born about 1866 in Keighley in the West Riding of Yorkshire
In the 1881 he was staying with a family at 14 King Street, Keighley.
In 1892 he married a Clara Simpson in Keighley, she was sister to my grandmother Martha Elizabeth Simpson.
Any assistance would be great and very helpful to fill a gap in my tree.

Hi Pam
That was quick, you caught me on the hop, you must actually BE downunder? I live in Rosebud, Victoria and was just ordering the Marriage certificate for this fellow. He married the Illegitimate sister of my illegitimate grandmother who I am trying to sort out, very convoluted road!!!
Thanks very much for the prompt reply, it will help me plot this difficult family on my mothers side of the family.

Best wishes,

Bram Taylor

Hello

Sorry the family is Sharpe not Harper I have just looked on the 1901 census and Beecroft is spelt Beacroft  on this census. Unusual names with Robinson and a Cinnea born abt 1895.

I do live down-under! In the beautiful city of Perth W A.

Regards Pam

Thanks again Pam for going the extra mile, (Km)?
I will adjust the surname, I was more concerned with the Dewhirst part I will sit and wait now for the marriage cert.
Well done Pam :)

Did this Dewhirst family come to Australia - or descendants?
I have been doing a one name study of Dewhurst/Dewhirst in Australia for the last 40 years or so and am always on the lookout to make better connections.

Hello Nameerf,

I am sorry but you have sadly replied to a member (Bram Taylor) who we have sadly lost contact with some time ago.

Old members do log back in and hopefully this will be the case for Bram Taylor.
Update back online :D

Regards

Sarah :)
