Hi,

Just done a quick check and this is the only Elizabeth Waugh with a son called James, living in the same household in the Borders. There are some of that name down as servants but these are the only two together. Let me know if it's wrong and I'll give you the individual ones.

Yarrow Parish,
Book 3, Page 1
Rowantree Bank

Elizabeth Waugh; Wife; Married; 37; Shepherds wife; Selkirk, Roberton

Janet Waugh; Daughter; Unmarried; 9; Scholar; Selkirk, Selkirk
James Waugh; Son; Unmarried; 7; Scholar; Selkirk, Selkirk

Hi,

I have to say not too sure about records in India. What I would do first is get all the information from this country first.Try thr census for 1841 and 1861 you never know what information you'll find. The other thing is how do you know he went to india, was he in the army if so there records are very good and extreemly interesting: once you find them! Let me know what info you have and I'll have a wee think.

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond, I have actualy only just seen your responce I don't know how i missed it at the time, sorry.
