Cannot trace a birth

Looking for Birth on Scotland's People and cannot find I don't know if this name could have changed any ideas.

On the 1851 and 1861 census  as Marion Crawford and I have her marriage Certificate and Death Certificate but cannot locate birth.

Any suggestions

What is the approximate date of birth for Marion?  And do you have her parents' names?

Hi there,

I have to agree - there is nothing obvious on SP.  There is always a chance that the birth was not registered at all as it was before statutory registration.  There is also the possibility that the family were not attendees of the Established Church of Scotland - therefore the birth may well be registered with a different church (OPRs are only COS). 

I had a look for all crawfords born in Scotland with parents with the names of 'Thomas' and 'Brown' - and there are only 2 in the country.  But the names don't match
