Do you know much about him? Occupation, name of spouse, kids?

He could be traced in the US census and maybe you could find a naturlaization record.

There are a few Denis Leahys in the census.  I did find a Denis Leahy in Astoria Queens NY in 1920 who was married to a Hannah. He Immigrated abt 1895.

That is only information I have on him.  His father was Denis Leahy from Kilbronogue Schull Cork.  His brother was Daniel R.I.C.  and sister Margaret.  Daniel migrated to Australia and was my gfather.  I guess Denis would have been an agriculture labourer as his father had leased 30 acres in Schull.  DENIS  was born1868 ARRIVED ELLIS Is.17/4/1892. He was not married at that stage.  Any information would be appreciated, or if you can tell me next step to take.  Lormar

There are so many Denis Leahy that I cannot narrow down the search without any more details.  Do you know for sure that he arrived in 1892? There is another who arrived in 1895 with the same approximate birth year.

Your next step would be to figure out what state he settled in as to get records such as marriage and death. US records are at the state and local levels. Not federal.  YOu should try to find him in the 1900 census which has year of arrival, naturalization and more details about households.
