Hi there

These people have started to transcribe those ships that left Britain for Canada around 1910.

http://members.shaw.ca/nanaimo.fhs/

The ultimate plan is to list all those from 1900-1921,but it's being done by volunteers so may take some time.

Hope this helps

Carol

It would be worth looking on the Ellis Island website Jake, if your family are listed, it could well show the name of the ship they sailed on, It did mine.

Hi Jake,

What was his name? Was he here for the 1911 census, it may list his immigration year.

Karen
Gandley (but known as Stanley in Canada)- Ireland to Birmingham
Ball, Kempson & Franklin - Birmingham
Shorter - Surrey
Dyer - Devon
Dawkins - Co. Cork, Ireland
Heffernan - Ireland
Huck - Alsace, France
Reinhart - Baden, Germany
Bowman & Ellis - England
Etheridge - Gloucestershire

Who all came to Canada in a little row boat, clap clap, clap your hands!!

Between 1869 and the early 1930s, over 100,000 children were sent to Canada from Great Britain during the child emigration movement

NAC (National Archives of Canada) has indexed the names of these Home Children found in passenger lists at NAC, and there is a searchable database at http://www.archives.ca/02/020110_e.html
