Why not a RootsChat T/Sweatshirt?
« on: Thursday 07 October 04 19:25 BST (UK) »
With all the interest displayed in a 'meet', everybody seems to have overlooked the suggestion slipped in there, for a T or Sweat shirt for all us RootsChat affectionionados.
These, with a suitable, low key logo, would prove I think a sure fire winner, just imagine seeing somebody wearing one anywhere in the world, and being able to say to them, Hey, I've got one of those at home!
I used to work for a yacht charter company in Cornwall, a small place called Mylor Harbour,  we used to sell T & Sweat shirts with a small logo of a yacht with the words 'Mylor Yacht Harbour' embroidered underneath.  I used to purchase (at cost thanks to a nice boss) these for my father, and many was the time that he would return from one of his and my mother's caravan holidays with the words...."you will never guess who I met who knows Mylor"
Come on you lot, surely somebody out there knows of someone who could get this going on the web.

Doesnt see to be a huge response to this idea, if I search the web and find out the likelihood of getting one printed up it would need quite a few more to make the thing viable.  Ill wait a while and see how it goes.

Lindy ;D

we did have a few posts about T shirts on the 'Meet' thread.

Only one from Graceland remains as Kazza deleted the others due to the thread getting 'off topic' and confusing to those wishing to attend in November.

From memory there was a post from Admin about the possibility of T shirts in time for the meet.

Trystan would have answered you by now but he is busy moving house.

I am sure one of the moderators or Trystan himself will get back to you soon.

I would buy one. I probably will not be able to get to the "meets" but I would wear it at any other time. I would be thrilled if someone out and about recognised it and spoke to me.
Count me in.

Hi all

Earlier this year, I suggested to Trystan & Sara that I was prepared to attend Family History Fairs for and on behalf of Rootschat to promote our site.

There was talk also of doing a live demonstration of how Rootschat works etc - and I of course would have all of my computers (1 base, 2 Laptops) and all of my Sussex Archives to help researchers if they had ancestors in Sussex etc.

At that time I was informed by Sarah that they would provide TShirts with the Rootschat Logo on them and Sarah made enquiries about getting some done; and I was led to believe that it was all in hand.

Unfortunately we could not get in to the Fairs that we wanted - they had all been booked up months previously - so it did not happen THIS YEAR; but watch out for 2005

So, the gist of this message is - Rootschat Tshirts are in Hand and would / should become available in the near future
