St Marys Church - graves.
« on: Tuesday 28 March 06 21:07 BST (UK) »
Can anybody tell me who you speak to about graves in Welshpool. Im looking for the graves of my great great grandparents, Sarah and Charles Morris, who died in 1880 and 1881.
Is there a plan of the graveyard, because my mum travelled all the way to Welshpool from Warwickshire and couldnt find it !!

Thanks

The Montgomeryshire Genealogical Society may be able to help you.

This is from their website:

"Memorial inscription series

Booklets in this series normally include a full checked transcript of every memorial, a photograph (colour in the latest editions) or drawing of each church and chapel included, an introductory preface about each church and chapel, a plan of each church, chapel and burial ground showing the location and type of all memorials, and an index of names and monumental masons.

Transcripts of parish churches and chapels marked in BOLD typeface include a burial ground"

The booklet for St Mary's Church is available, and the reference is MI/20, for £6 plus £1 p & p.

The following details are from the website:

HOW TO ORDER

The publications listed above appear in the Montgomeryshire Records (MR) series, ISSN 1359 558X. Please ensure that the full reference is given in ordering, eg MR/MI/16.
