do you know what he was employed as.Lambeth Records Office have records of London CC Tramways, Drivers and Conductors, Records of Service.

the civil service rifles in the great war
all bloody gentlemen
it was written by jill knight,ive read it and recommend it above any other book on the rifles,you can get it at the library or buy it,its been reduced on amazon to £11.86,well worth 12 quid,mack
military history,mainly ww1,manchester pals battalions,tyneside irish +tyneside scottish brigades,leeds,liverpool,accrington,birmingham,hull,barnsley,swansea and salford pals.

Hi Mick,
   No i don't know what he was employeed as within the Council, just that he was listed as a Cheif Engineer on his death certificate, but i don't even knwo if that was still for the council.

   I was looking at a CD (that i have been told i can't mention ;)  ),  which details the staff involvement in the war.
