I checked 1841 Chaddleworth to try and find the
Richard buried 1842 with no age given but althoug I found William & family
& Thomas & family - no sign of Richard

From the IGI
10th July 1763 Richard s/o Edward & Mary Marsling at Lambourne

What do you think? - there seems to be a fair few Maslins (assorted spellings) in and around Lambourne

The entry for Richard Maslin buried in 1842 at Chaddleworth says his abode was Wantage workhouse. He is in the workhouse on 1841 census. But his age says 70. If he is the one bapt in Lambourne his age should be rounded to 75. But it wouldn't be the first time I have seen incorrect ages for people in institutions.
If the Mary buried in 1823 is his wife, there would only be a 4 year age gap if he was the Richard bapt in 1763 s/o Edward.

Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott
