Hemsley East Yorkshire Regiment WW1
« on: Wednesday 05 April 06 18:51 BST (UK) »
Hi,

My Grandad Harold Hemsley served in the East Yorkshire Regiment in WW1. We believe he was under age and that he spent some time in India. I have a medal card for a H Hemsley but it doesn't say much. Can anyone throw any light on Grandad? He was a drummer and came from Sussex.

Thanks

Brigcs

Hi brigcs!

Can you post the medal card ? - maybe somebody can read something on it !

Do you have any information / family stories etc or photos that would help find him ?

Thanks Annie,

I have a pic of him in what I believe is a his band uniform but I could be wrong. It has some coloured pips on it so maybe that will help. Our scanner isn't working but once it is I'll post again. I'll post the possible medal card too.
