Because I've always been known as "Ticker" Tymon since my infant school days.  Don't really know why - it just seems to go!  ;D

I was brought up on the forest (in Sussex), so decided on a bit of local flavour.
The rest of my family think I'm a country bumpkin anyway.

Hej,

For me it was easy. Steve had already been taken so I used my daughter's name. As it's short I thought that most people would just assume it was my initials or something. Regardless of my username I still sign mail with Steve.

I got mine because I am only 4' 10". By coincidence my husband who is only 5' 6" and with the surname Dalton also got the same nickname because of the outlaws the Dinkey Dalton gang.

My great great grandfather (on one side) were both called Edmund Bear and he was born in 1843.  He was known as Ted and it always amused me.

One of my relations was nicknamed Cub, even up till his fifties when he passed away.

Teddy
