The Cotton Family in Bristol
« on: Friday 07 April 06 20:47 BST (UK) »
Hi can anyone please help I am looking for information on the Cotton Family which I believe came from Wales / Bristol.  Barton Hill Road is also mentioned in the information I have. Part of the family moved to Ireland and settled around Arklow, Wicklow in Ireland.
If you need further information please send me a post thanks in advance.

Hi many thanks for your reply to my post. I feel it would be between 1900 and 1945. I know my grandfather left Ireland to work in Bristol  but became ill and returned home where he died in 1945. Hi name was Charles Cotten just like his father before him  thanks Kate regards Brendan

Good Afternoon

I hope you and your family and friends are keeping well and safe in these uncertain times.

To date 185 males have taken Y-chromosome tests as part of the Cotton/Cotten DNA Project, described here:

Cotton/Cotten DNA Project:
http://www.skylinc.net/users/cottondna/

A further three tests have just been ordered, so our fabulous project just gets better as more tests are taken!

FamilyTreeDNA has reduced the price of a Y-DNA37 test to just US Dollars 109.00 until August 31st, if you join our project here:
https://www.familytreedna.com/group-join.aspx?Group=Cotton

These tests can be taken by males only, so if you are female, you can order a test kit for a male relative!

There is also a Facebook group for anyone interested in Cotton/Cotten genealogy:
