Alice Williams - Guernsey or Alderney

Now here's a challenge!

I'm looking for Alice Williams who was born around 1857. I have found her in 1901 in Warwickshire with her husband, Edward Thompson and her kids. Other kind rootschatters found her in 1891 with her husband and kids, still in Warwickshire. Both of these censuses give her place of birth as Alderney, CI.
I am unsure of her year of birth - if the censuses are to be believed she was 38 in 1891 and 43 in 1901 . I can't find her in the 1881 census (or her husband for that matter).  I don't know when or where they married but they had children between 1885 and 1896, all in Warwickshire. Her husband was born in Warwickshire too. I don't think they had any earlier children as Alice helpfully gave all the boys the middle name of Williams.

She was my mother-in-law's grandmother. The information from my mother-in-law is that Alice had a French mother and English father and that she went to school in Guernsey as her parents ran an inn (don't know where though).

I would be grateful for any help with this.

I was just browsing and your post intrigued me, so I had a look.  Gosh, this is a tricky one!

This is what I've found:

1871 census Eastery(?) Road, St Mary, Portsmouth
Emma Parfoot Head of H 40 Licenced victualler Surrey, Farnham [can't read whether it says married or widow]
Ellen E Williams Daur 16 Kent Woolwich
Alice Williams Daur 13 C Island Alderney
John Williams Son 9 Hants Portsmouth
Albert E Williams Son 7 "
George Parfoot Son 4 "
Alfred Parfoot Son 3 "

This was so hard to find and Ancestry have Alice transcribed as born "Olderney, Ireland".
On FreeBMD there is a possible marriage June 1865 Thomas Parfoot Emma Williams in Portsea.


I will keep looking to see if I can find them in CI.

PS - I think the 38 in 1891 is a mistranscription, it looks like 33 to me...

John Williams, Age 36, Gunner Royal Marine Artillary, b. Chester, Chershire
Eliza Williams, Wife, Age 30, b. Farnham, Surrey
E Williams, Daughter, Age 6, b. Woolwich, Kent
A Williams, Daughter, Age 3, b. Alderney

Institution Unknown (no descripton of the enumeration district !), Landport, Portsea Island, Hampshire (RG9/644,Page 3)

Alice has given me such a headache. Now I have a bit more to look at. I am as certain as I can be that this is the right family. I suspected that her father would have been called John because of the names of her children. My mother-in-law has since said that the inn they ran was "on the south coast".
