most of the family were canal bargeman according to others in fact my hubbies g g Grandfather Joseph was described as a bargeman victualler???
David Lambert died in Ware in 1845 so I would have expected to find him (Dont we all!! ) his wifes name was mary as so many were. he had 7 brothers and 5 sisters so probablly most lamberts were related in ware or great amwell.
Joseph had 6 brothers and 4 sisters!!
I know its a great trawl looking through early census so I will just ask if you come accross any Lamberts in your travels perhaps you would keep a note and think of me.
