You can get BMD's from the archives in New York City.

http://www.nyc.gov/html/records/html/vitalrecords/home.shtml

Here is an index in the works for the area. (not only of Italians, just started by them)

http://www.italiangen.org/databaselist.stm

Use the number listed on the index to order the certificate. They have loads of info.  DO not need an exact date or certificate number and they can do a search for you.  The Archives has a very good staff that have found some difficult items for me more than once.

Hi Nutkin!

I think I have found my great-grandmother in the brides' indexes but I need to verify on her husband.

It seems I could not access to the groom's indexes prior to 1906.

How can I verify whether I have a right person?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Tees
