This mentions the Land War 1879-89 Widow O'Leary had been evicted so on 10th September 1879 armed men helped her to reclaim her smallholding at Castleisland. Sam Hussey, an unpopular land agent then burnt houses whenever he evicted people from that date. Has anyone got Co. Kerry Hussey ancestors ??? You might need an armed guard...Irish people have long memories :D Hussey himself had his home burned and policemen in the area, sympathishing with the evicted people, resigned. People with ancestors in Kerry many find some names they know mentioned in the article about the 1922-3 Civil War
